WATER ALS BRON VAN INSPIRATIE EN PLEZIER / Verstilde landschappen en leidingwerk
WATER AS A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION AND PLEASURE / Tranquil landscapes and pipe work
Water is een bron van inspiratie. Kunstenaars van vroeger en nu reflecteren in hun werk op de band tussen mens en water. Door de schaalmodellen van leidingwerk door Frank Halmans realiseer je je bijvoorbeeld hoe bijzonder het is dat er water uit de kraan komt. Bij de Dreamscapes, van Rob Sweere, vraag je je af of de verstilde landschappen verwijzen naar het verleden, heden of toekomst. En in ‘To water is to Be’ van Nanno Simonis is het water gevangen in een transparante kubus waarin het straalt, druppelt, stroomt en vloeit waarbij het allerlei contrasterende verschijningsvormen aanneemt.
Verder met werk van Claudy Jongstra, Saskia Boelsums, Peter Bes, Udo Prinsen, Everdien Breken, Anna Khodorovich, JinZiao Zhou, Juane Xue, Jolanda Meulendijks, Noortje Haegens, Ans Bakker en Cees Wouda.
Water is a source of inspiration. Artists of the past and present reflect in their work on the bond between man and water. The scale models of pipe work by Frank Halmans, for example, make you realize how special it is that water comes out of the tap. In the Dreamscapes, by Rob Sweere, you wonder whether the tranquil landscapes refer to the past, present or future. And in "To water is to Be" by Nanno Simonis, water is captured in a transparent cube in which it radiates, drips, flows and flows, taking on all sorts of contrasting appearances.
